It’s Time To Go To War!

A new movie is set for release on August 28th entitled, War Room, described as a “compelling drama with humor and heart that explores the power that prayer can have on marriages, parenting, careers, friendships, and every other area of our lives.” The story, from the creators of Fireproof and Courageous, focuses on a couple whose strained marriage is failing until the wife is “challenged” to set up a “war room” and create a battle plan of prayer for her family.

The Bible says in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 to “prayer without ceasing,” but this doesn’t mean we are to establish ritual prayer 24 hours, 7 days a week. It simply means that prayer should be part-and-parcel of our daily lives. Prayer is not only communicating our requests to God, but being fully conscious of Him and His goodness to us. It’s taking the time not only to bring our problems to God, but to praise and worship Him for His daily blessings to us and our family.

It’s Time To Declare New Decrees!

Arrow.png~originalHave you ever received a promise from the Lord and wondered why you haven’t seen it manifest in your life? While God moves in His own timing, we can continue to declare His Word until it comes into existence. God reveals His plans to His people in general and He speaks specifically to those who are seeking Him for a Word for their personal lives. Through prayer, reading the Bible and meditating on His Word, God will give us specific directions for our lives.

In order for God’s decree (His authoritative order or command) to come into existence, God tells us to “declare” it, which means to proclaim it by speaking it out loud. Job 22:28 says, “You will also decree a thing and it will be established for you, and light will shine upon Your ways.”

Why do we speak God’s Word out loud? Because hearing God’s decree over our lives, activates our faith in God and our confidence that He is going to move on our behalf. Speaking His Word out loud also pushes out the negative thoughts and nagging doubts and the unbelief that will enter our minds while we are waiting for God Word’s to manifest in our lives.

Why do we have to speak God’s Word as oppose to what we want to speak? When we speak God’s Word, we are in alignment with Him and we want to be in agreement with Him because He is the One who will bring His promises to pass in our lives. If we speak our own words nothing will happen unless we make it happen, and that can turn into disaster, especially when we have no idea what we’re doing!

So, how do we know what to speak if we haven’t yet received a direct revelation from the Lord? We can begin by declaring Scriptures, which are the authoritative Word of God. Continue reading

PSALM 91

1. He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

2.  I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

3.  Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
